What's the challenge
The health and safety compliance process for the meat industry in South Africa is tedious, and its processes are often outdated. The client came to us overwhelmed, needing a better way to get their business compliance approved.
Paper-Heavy Compliance
Files and files of data that were difficult to keep track of and present on inspection.

From problem to solution
Discover
To figure out what the problem was, we met with stakeholders for interviews to find out how the current system was working and what was causing them friction.
Define
Once we'd met with the client, we took what we'd learned and mapped out the personas and all the roles that needed to be played in order to make the company compliant with health and safety standards.
Design
We created mockups and components, and presented them to the client for feedback. We implemented a process of iteration until the client was completely satisfied with the look and feel, including a style guide and brand colours.
Develop
Once wireframes were signed off after rounds of iteration and feedback, we proceeded to develop the product, using Azure DevOps, Docker, and ClickUp for project management.
The Solution
The screens cover the dashboard, user management for managers and supervisors, form digitisation and form management, and a reporting section — giving every level of the business a clear view of compliance.
